I posted this "Inquisition I'm finally financially able to replace the shitty, god forsaken, hair-destroying dryer I've suffered with for YEARS. What is the firest hair dryer out there? I want some ion, big circle thing at the end, silky-hair-makin'-ass piece of equipment here, and I knew who to ask. YOU GUYS. So do tell.
THANK YOU!

After searching amazon for what was recommended: cricket, t3, supersolano...I find myself with A LOT of choices even for three brands, and realize now I should've asked for something more detailed. There are too many kinds! I want one with a diffuser, I don't mind the narrowed concentrator ones, but I do prefer the large circular ones, and I'd like to buy them together so it's not so expensive. Help? Suggestions? Specifics?

ok so this is my first post, first cut, first time trying to put pictures on here. anyway... i'm having issues with my hair color. i love the root area where my new growth had grown in and been highlighted to a nice light blonde. however, halfway down my hair starts a terrible orange mess where i had highlights and some old faded lowlights all mushed together. i have had my hair professionally done for the last year atleast now becuase it is so fried and i always end up hating it whenever i do it myself. I have an appointment tomorrow... any suggestions what I should tell my hairdresser, or what i can ask her to do to fix this problem? ( Read more... )( Read more )

| Hair cut ideas please! :) |
[07 Jan 2010|05:33pm] |
hey everyone, so i am super, SUPER bored of my hair style. i need a new cut.
this is my hair:

(it's currently the colour of the middle photo -sorry about the moustache haha! - i had to lose the pink because of college ;_;)
it's pretty thick and poofy (grrr), so i can't have any sort of drapey, flowy sort of hair style. also, my hair has a natural wave & i rarely straighten it, so i dunno how keen i would be on straight-across bangs or anything that would require toooo much daily maintenence.
can anyone help? photos would be good too! :)

| Please help me out, I'm totally lost. |

Alright, so I messed up and used L'Oreals hilight magenta stuff, and it just didn't turn out good at all, my roots and my hair line (and hair around it) were way lighter than I thought opposed to the rest of my dark hair so it turned out terribly stupid. I washed it, used alcohol pads and just scrubbed the crap out of it and it still looks stupid. The whole thing does IMO.
So can anyone PLEASE suggest some dye I can just throw over it. I have a Sallys where I live so anything from there is fine. I just don't know what to do and I want a quick fix, any color will be fine, but I'm guessing a brown or black? I just don't know because the top of my head is pretty red too I didn't know if I would need a toner or what.
Here are some stupid pictures of the terrible hair I have: ( Damnit )
see! I look like a damn idiot :(

| i color oopsed lol |
[07 Jan 2010|12:01am] |
color i want:

so i attempted to get as much black as i could out of my hair and i got sum great results...

except on the long side the tips are still pretty dark... i think i might color oops one more time in a few days.... just the tips tho, if that works and takes it lighter..

but i am also thinking of cutting a lot of the bulk off the back and long side, its kind flat and lifeless and just making it shorter... this is it just clipped back...

cut??

| Making dye go further |
[07 Jan 2010|12:43am] |
I have a great amount of hair. It's not really the length that's an issue, it's more the thickness. (My hair is actually just middle-back length, but breaks ponytail holders like nobody's business.) So I typically have to get a lot of dye when dying my hair. Last time I dyed, I used 2½ bottles of Special Effects and still have a big section of hair in the back that didn't have a bit of dye on it (it's okay looking though because I was dying myself pink from a light red).
I was wondering if anyone had an experience with attempting to make their dye go further? Possibly by mixing with conditioner or something? Does this dilute the color a whole lot or is it not really that noticeable?
My hair has grown a bit since dying it last time and I suspect that I'll need at least 4 bottles.
( to make this not just text, a picture containing a boob stressball! )

Just had a question/ wanted to see if you guys had any input..
I am doing the no shampoo experiment has anyone else ever done this? Results? What do you think about it? I'm doing it because I am really tired of trying to choose a shampoo that works for me, honestly all shampoos i have tried make my hair in some way feel funky, just not right. And to make things clear I would still shower and go through the motions of washing my hair just minus the shampoo. I have read mixed things online but some say that once your body/scalp normalize your hair could be on its way to prettier and healthier state. So I want to know what all of you think.
and for fun here are some pics of my boring hair

I really don't know how to style my hair at the moment.
I have a portion on the side of my head that was shaved, and it's growing in.
The rest is just, there I guess haha I'm trying to let it grow out longggg.
I put it in a pony tail, or do some (sort of) braids, or pig tails, or wear a hat.
I'm getting very sick of it and I'm so tempted to get a pixie cut again.

| Yellow Hair... D: |
[06 Jan 2010|05:38pm] |
(x-posted to Beauty101)
So I've been wanting to go blonde, and today... I did it! Went to a nice salon, got a full set of highlights (gonna repeat the process a couple more times until my hair is completely blonde), but I mistakenly decided on a "golden blonde," which turned out way too yellow, against my skin tone.
Not only that, but because they're highlights, I still have brown hair peeking out through the yellow. D:
In a fit of panic, I went to Lush and bought purple shampoo and the Marilyn hair treatment, hoping maybe, SOMEHOW, it will un-tone my hair, and make it more ashy. Is this possible? The Marilyn stuff is supposed to lighten hair/blondify/keep things from being brassy.
Is the toner that stylists use permanent? (Yeeeah, I'm clueless. lol)
What can I do, to fix this? : (

| Color depositing glaze stuff |
[06 Jan 2010|07:01pm] |
So, I used to use the John Frieda red glaze when I had dyed hair back in the day. Now, over a year later, I am back to red and can't find that stuff ANYWHERE. I guess they discontinued it? Is there any other RED color glaze/color depositing product that works well? I want the kind I can just leave on in the shower for a few minutes each time.

| Your help is needed |
[06 Jan 2010|06:41pm] |
Hi people from madradhair!
i have a problem: my hair... its blond, its thin and i dont like the cut (i dont really have a cut)... you can see it on the picture (i had a very very good hair day when the picture was taken...) i have been thinking about dying it a rich, dark brown, to bring out my skintone (very light - i like it that way) more and to achieve a "french girl" like look, if you know what i mean ;-)
so, what do you think? stay blond? dye my hair dark? which cut?
i hope im doing everything right here, as this is my first time ever on LJ :-)
thank you so much for your help!
